Workshop: Best Practice Social Media

July 12th, 2007 · 2 Comments

Old Economy? New Economy?

Social media is a significant force changing the approach companies are taking to communications.  Ground-breaking programs engage citizen-journalists and challenge YouTube enthusiasts.  Companies have seen their brands revitalised while others have been tarnished in days by bloggers.

What does it mean for Australia?  How will the uptake of social media transform business’ relationships with its key opinion leaders?

Presenting insights from world-best campaigns, Burson-Marsteller is pleased to offer a hands-on workshop on social media.  The session features Charlie Pownall, lead digital strategist for Burson-Marsteller Asia Pacific based in Singapore.  Also presenting on how this is changing the communications industry is Bill Rylance, Asia Pacific President & CEO.  Walter Jennings of

I’m looking forward to the workshop Walter. Ready to roll up my sleeves and tackle the social media phenomenon.

    Walter

Thanks for inviting me down under to speak on social media.

I’m sure you’ll be gald to know that we received some terrific feedback from the sessions, and are now talking with a number of B-M clients and others about how they can use digital alongside more traditional PR and marketing activities.

With social networks really seeming to start to gain widespread use down under, companies and their marketers won’t be far behind and Australian companies are clearly hungry for knowledge in this area.

I’m sorry we never got to meet. Best luck with your new endeavour - perhaps we’ll cross paths one of these days, more likely if you keep talking up social media!

    Best

    Charlie
